Massage and Cellular Support

Researchers at McMaster University found a ten-minute massage reverses inflammation. They also found that a therapeutic massage helped to reverse an hour's worth of exercise-induced muscle damage. Massage has been shown to create more mitochondria, the power house of our cells. This then will help reduce muscular inflammation, and decrease cellular stress while restoring cellular energy. Massage therapy therefore may help decrease muscle pain using the same biological mechanisms as pain medications.
