Vitamins K & C for Skin

Researchers found that Vitamin K and C improve elasticity in aging skin. Recent studies have shown that there is a link between vitamin K deficiency and pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE), which is an inherited condition resulting in severe wrinkling of the skin on the face and body. In both healthy people and people with vitamin K deficiency, the reduction in skin elasticity is due to the calcification of the elastic fibers of the skin. Vitamin C has powerful antioxidant properties such as its ability to enhance collagen synthesis and its potential ability to protect against sun damage. Daily supplementation with vitamins K and C is a preventative and effective way for reducing the signs of aging.
