Benefits of Olive Oil

Studies have shown that people who consume 25 milliters (mL), or about 2 tablespoons, of virgin olive oil daily for one week showed less oxidation of LDL cholestrol and higher levels of antioxidant compounds, particularly phenols, in the blood. Since extra virgin olive oil is less refined it contains the highest level of antioxidants such vitamin E & phenols. Research has shown that adding olive oil in your diet regularly can prevent colon cancer. Olive oil is also helpful for alleviating stomach conditions such as ulcers and gastritis and the prevention of gallstones. Incorporating extra virgin olive oil in the diet regularly is a great way to stay healthy!
