Curcuminoids are natural phenols found within the spice turmeric. Research has proven that these phytocompounds have the ability to treat certain diseases including triple negative breast cancer, and reduce heart attack after coronary artery bypass surgery. A study from Chiang Mai University in Thailand followed a group of 121 patients randomly selected to receive a placebo or 4 grams curcumin per day starting 3 days prior to cardiac bypass surgery and for 5 days post surgery. There was a 56 percent risk reduction of the in-hospital myocardial infarction rate in the curcuminoid patients. Researchers have found curcuminoids to have cardioprotective properties as well as many other health benefits!
