Benefits of Raw Honey

Raw honey has been proven to have numerous health benefits. They include the following:
  • inhibits growth of 'sick' bacteria & fungi
  • increases blood concentrations of vitamin C
  • supports the immune system
  • inhibits tumor growth & metastasis
  • decreases inflammation
  • contains prebiotics (oligosaccharides)
  • alleviates seasonal allergies

  • improves performance, heart frequency & blood glucose in athletes
  • prevents and soothes gastrointestinal disorders (peptic ulcer & gastritis)
Manuka honey decreases the development of dental plaque and gingivitis.
It can also be used topically to heal various types of wounds such as bed sores, leg ulcers, fistulas, cracked nipples, surgical wounds, cuts, puncture wounds and even burns. Heating honey decreases its antimicrobial properties. Children under 1 year of age should not consume honey, however using honey topically is fine at any age.
